Families at Anchor

We are a family-integrated church that cherishes the sounds of children in our services. Our goal is to provide a welcoming atmosphere where parents and children can grow together in their faith.

 Nursery

We do have a non-staffed nursery available if a parent needs to take their baby/toddler out of the service for a short period of time.

Family Worshipping Together

We encourage children to remain in the sanctuary. Don’t worry about restless moments—we believe that children learn to love the Lord by watching their parents worship.

Special Needs

If someone in your family has special needs, please don't hesitate to bring them to church! We would love to have them be a part of our services and would not consider them a bother at all! As a matter of fact, if we can do something to lighten your load while you're here, please let us know!

Common Questions

dSnHmGSq_edited.jpg
What is a typical service like?

Our services follow a traditional pattern with congregational singing, Bible reading, and practical preaching from the King James Bible. We focus on natural fellowship and clear scriptural teaching in an atmosphere that is both reverent and welcoming. Folks are encouraged to lift their hands while we sing if led by the Holy Spirit to do so. People have the liberty to shout Amen during the singing or preaching. The altar is open for anyone who would like to kneel there to pray. Most services last between an hour and an hour and fifteen minutes.

How should I dress?

We encourage a respectful and modest standard of dress. Men and boys are encouraged to wear dress pants, dress shirts and ties (full suits if they have them), while ladies and girls are encouraged to wear non form-fitting modest dresses or skirts. However, you are welcome to come exactly as you are—our focus is on worshipping the Lord together.

Where should I park?

Free street-side parking is available along Chamberlain Street or in the Highland Day Services parking lot across the street. Our building is easy to find, and you will see the main entrance clearly as you arrive.

What about my children?

Anchor Baptist is a family-integrated church, meaning we love having children of all ages participate in our services alongside their parents. We believe it is a blessing for families to worship together, and we welcome the presence and participation of your little ones.

Does your church follow personalities?

No. Anchor Baptist Church does not follow any modern or historical personality. We are not Calvinist, Ruckmanites, Briders, Andersonsites, etc. We are an independent, fundamental Baptist church that seeks to follow the clear teaching of Scripture, not the system or spirit of any one man.
