Traditional worship. Biblical preaching.
Christ-centered worship.
At Anchor Baptist Church, we believe church doesn't need to be complicated. We gather together as a church family to sing, pray, open the Bible, and grow in our walk with Jesus Christ. You are welcome here!

"Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other." Psalm 85:10
The Baptist Distinctives
At Anchor Baptist Church, we believe that biblical truth is the foundation for all we do. To help you understand our convictions, we use the BAPTISTS acrostic to explain the core doctrines that guide our small, welcoming fellowship as we seek to honor the Lord Jesus Christ.

Bible is our sole authority for faith and practice.
We believe the Word of God is the final word for our lives and our church, standing above all human tradition or opinion.
"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness." — 2 Timothy 3:16
Autonomy of the local church.
Our church is self-governing and independent from outside hierarchies, following Christ as our only Head.
"And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence." — Colossians 1:18
Priesthood of the believer.
Every Christian has direct access to God through Christ, allowing us to pray and study His Word personally.
"But ye are a royal priesthood... that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light." — 1 Peter 2:9
Two ordinances.
We practice baptism by immersion for believers and the Lord's Supper as symbolic acts of obedience.
"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost." — Matthew 28:19
Individual soul liberty.
Every person is responsible to God for their own beliefs and may follow their conscience without coercion.
"So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God." — Romans 14:12
Saved and baptized church membership.
We welcome those who have trusted Jesus as Savior and followed Him in believer's baptism.
"Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls." — Acts 2:41
Two offices.
We follow the New Testament pattern of a Pastor serving as the church overseer and Deacons assisting the pastor in meeting the physical needs of the local body.
"Paul and Timotheus, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons." — Philippians 1:1

Separation of church and state.
We believe the church and government are distinct institutions ordained by God for different purposes.
"Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's." — Matthew 22:21
